What a surprise today amongst my cards ..this card from Iran.. I forgot all about this card as it was sent by a good friend in China to Iran then to me.. Than you so much Cheng Mun  really worth the wait and another great MCPS card for my collection.. Xie Xie for this card..

EMBLEM:The emblem of Iran features the Arabic word Allah (GOD ) rendered in stlylized characters in Persian and consists of four crescents and a sword.
UNIQUE to Iran is the Asiatic Cheetah  (acinonyx jubatus venaticus ) is is an endangered species and can only be found in Iran thus the name "Iranian Cheetah"
RECOURCES: The natural gas  supply is the largest in the world (15.8 % of the worlds total reserves.) Iran also has the worlds largest zinc reserves.
PERSIA : in the western world Persia was historically the common name for Iran.
HISTORY : Irans civililisation is one of the worlds oldest continuous civilisations with historical and urban settlements dating back to 7,000 BC.
The Islamic Republic of Iran was established on the 1st of April 1979 following the Islamic revolution.

 This is the most colourful card... I have received a lot of really just wonderful cards this week and they all seemed to have come at once.. This card is from Iran showing local women in local and National Dress...it is really colourful.  Also these lovely stamps of the Persian Alphabet are so nice.

 A terrific card showing this man and his wife on the doorsteps of their Shop / Buisiness hoping for some passing trade as the man smokes his pipe and his dutiful wife sits patiently..The old man a silversmith has his shop filled with his intricate hard and proud work of silver plate and bowls. what a nice card this is, Once again an unsigned card with no Post Office cancellation on the lovely stamps.

 A wonderful card from Iran...with no information only "Old lady from Northern Iran.." card shows this woman sorting what appears to  rice ..I would say preparing to make the evening meal..a lovely colourful card as these cards are.. not signed also no postage cancellation date.!!!
