  Thnak you so much dear Inge for this card from Nerja  Spain  This lovely town is located on the  Costa Del Sol.   what a great place to be in to have your Spanish course .   I envy you and wish I was there  as I have also wanted to learn Spanish too...   it is getting too cold here now.  Thank you once again and enjoy your stay there .   Wow what a great card !!   so much military history from WW II  The card shows the remains of the "Bridge at Reamage "  Regarding the battle for this bridge over the Rhine between  The German and Ameican  miltary forces  late in WW II.  Thank you so much Sabine for this great card as I love miltary history so much.  This is a surprise card abd I love it Vierlen Danke

Vietnam

 Hoi An : VIETNAM:

 This shaped card shows the Japanese Bridge in the City of Hoi An  Vietnam. This is a most lovely bridge " ChuaCau" a footbridge with a Temple on the top.  I loved this when I visited Hoi An and found it to be such a colourful city as I always thought that it was the city of "lanterns" as the lovely colourful lanterns are all to be seen and I found a wonderful town to have clothes and shoes made for  customers within two days.. I would love to return to Hoi An as I thought it to bea great destination.. lovely stamps also Thank you again Trang ..Cam on !    so good.!

       The Japanese Bridge  Hoi An  VIETNAM !

 This marvellous bridge is located in Hoi An in Quang Nam Province in Vietnam ! and is also referred to as Cau Nhat Ban or ( Japanese Bridge ) The foot bridge is 18 meters long and 3 meters wide  with a small Temple that sits on the North end of the Bridge , with the entrance in the middle of the bridge overlooking the water , The two bridge heads are built with bricks with two spans each while the middle of the bridge has five spans placed on brick pillars going into the water . The building frame is made of wood and utilises three seperate but intergrated roof systems for the three portions of the Bridge . The Temple is a Taoist Temple. In February of 1990 The Chua Cau bridge was granted the status of  a National Historical Cultural Relic, In 2006 a 20,00 VND (Vitetnamese Dong ) was issued featuring the bridge .  The Structure is sinking due to underground erosion  and cauurent plans in place to prevent its collapse !

   A Postcrossing card has just arrived and is a great bridge card !  The card shows the famous "Iron Bridge " constructed in 1779. This bridge was  the first cast  iron bridges ever built.  A great  card and thank you Chris.

 The Iron Bridge : I a cast iron arch bridge , and crosses the Severn River in Shropshire in England .Opened in 1781 the Iron Bridge was the first arch bridge to be built out of cast iron. and its succes inspired the  wide spread  use of cast iron as a  structural material.  Today this bridge is celebrated as a  symbol of The Industrial revolution !.

    A realy nice card from Kolkata showing the trams that are still in service there .These are the only operating trams in India and SE Asia sibce 1902 and are only 35 trams left now that are operating today .. A card just arrived from a great woman and good friend from Oklaoma and a card from her recent trip through Texas  Thank you so much Ann for thinking of me with this card of the Canadian River Wagon Bridge.. originally and after restoration...thank you and will add to my bridge collection of cards. This historic bridge was originally constructed in 1916, and restoration was completed in  the year 2000  This is from The Canadian River Valley Museum in Canadian Texas 7014.
