POPULATION : Is 3,398 inhabitants.
CAPITAL CITY is Stanley.:
SIZE : The Falkland Islands is an archipealego of 800 Islands.
CAPITAL NAME : The Capital City of The Falkland Islands was named after Lord Stanley who was the Seretary of State for the British Colonies in 1845.
PUBLICATIONS : The Islands have two weekly newspapers The Teaberry Express and the Penguin News
CATHEDRAL.: The Anglican Cathedral was built in 1892 and is famous for The large whalebone Arch situated at the entrance to the Cathedral which was made from the jawbones of two blue whales in 1933.
DISCOVERY : The first recorded Landing here was attributed to English Captain John Strong who dicovered the Islands in 1690.
HISTORY.: The Falkland Islands remained uninhabited until the 1764 establishment of Port Lewis on the East Falkland by French Captain Antoine de Bouganville.
