 THE ISLE OF MAN : Covers an area of some 572 KM2.
POPULATION : of the IOM is 84,497.
CAPITAL CITY ; of the IOM is Douglas.
UNIQUE : is the three legs of Man ,for centuries the Islands symbol has been a triskelion  of Three legs contained at the thigh, commonly known as the Three Legs of Man.
PARLIAMENT ;  The oldest continuous Parliament known as Tynwald which was set up by the Vikings in 979 AD.
FAMOUS : The Manx Cat is a breed of domestic cat originating , on The Isle of Man with a natural occuring mutation that shortens the tail
BEE GEE's. The famous singing brothers were born inthe city of  Douglas on the Isle of Man.
HISTORY : Democratic Government Dating 1866 obtained limited Home Rule with partly democratic elections to the House of Keys ,but an appointed Legislative Council.
TRAMS : Horse drawn trams dating from 1876 still operate on Douglas with many original cars still in use today.This makes the service the  Worlds oldest surving of its kind.

A great surprise has just arrived and my first card from The Isle of Man.. Thank you so much Krisztina for this swap.The card showing the many and various sites on the Island and also the T.T. course for the races.. The Isle of Man is known worldwide for the famous T.T. Motorcycle races that are held there and where the participants come from far and wide to race on this famous circuit...also famous for the Manx cat with no tail !!! Thank you again Krisztina for this great map card..also the great stamp..
