RICKENBACKER ELECTRO- SPANISH GUITAR 1935 |
Dublin : IRELAND.:
Another great Classi Guitars card.. This one shows The Rickenbacker Electro- Spanish 1935. This guitar was built by The Electro String Instrument corporation.of Los Angeles California.and is in a private collection.
This rare little instrument is a cousin of The Electric Hawaiian lap style guitars and was one of the first electric guitars offered commercially on the market. Hawaiian music was extremely popular throughout the 1930's.Hawaiian guitars were featured on many country and pop records of the period This three quarter sized electric guitar was made to be played conventionally and was used briefly by a few pioneering guitarists including Eldon Shamblin of Bob Wills Texas Playboys.
again Thank you Wendy for this great swap...Posted Dublin 01 May 2015..

GIBSON "GOLD TOPS" |
Dublin.: IRELAND.:
What a great card a pair of "gold top" Gibson Les Paul's. (left ) 1952 and ( right ) 1953-55.
Built by The GibsonGuitar corporation in Kalamazoo Michigan.held in a private collection.
The legendary Les Paul championed the idea of solid body electric guitars a long time before they became commercially viable. He built his own solid body in 1940 , though he played it throughout the decade no manufacturers were interested.. (sound familiar !! ) After the introduction of The "FenderTelecaster" in 1950 , however, Gibson finally decided to get on the bandwagon and listed Les Pauls advice and endorsement. The Les Paul featuring the Gold Top single cutaway body and trapeze tailpiece was introduced in 1952.
Love this card Thanks Wendy for these swaps..Posted Dublin 30 April 2015...
