   A great rail card showing this suspended railway in Wuppertal in Germany that has been operating since 1801. This is an unusual railway train as it is suspended 10 meters above the ground ..operating at a distance of 13 kilometers in the town of Wuppertal in Germany  Thank you so much Sabine forthis nice and unusual card .This is a surprise card !Thank you also for adding the Postcrossing stamp.

I really like this serues of cards as they are just filled with geographical information of the area.  every card is an education .   I am so lucky to receive so many cards these last few days it seems like the Post Office is getting their act back togeather agsin. This is a  "World Post Card Day" That is celebrated on October the 1st each year. This WPCD  card and my second this week.!!. This one is from Germany and shows the  "Dove of Peace and the Word  "Peace" in all the  different languages. Thank you so much Anke  for thinking of me on World Postcard Day..   Vierlen Danke !

The Speicherstadt : Literally means  "City of Warehouses  ( warehouse district ) in Hamburg Germany. That is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber pile  foundations. (oak logs in this particular case ) This is located in the Port of Hamburg within the Hafen City quarter and was built from 1883 to 1927. The Speicherstadt was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heriatage site on the 5th July 2015 along with the Konterhaus District.

   The mail from Germany is usually the fastest of all mail .  This card must have got caught up somewhere along the line taking 33 days to get to Sydney ...  The main thing is that it has arrived with lovely thoughts and wishes fo me fora Happy Eatser from a lovely friend in Germany .  Thank you so Much Andrea for this thoughtful card   vierlen Danke  hugs .!!
