Thank you Arnold have been waiting on this card..  A great card and a great Battleship..!!  The USS Missouri BB63. Thank you mate for this great swap card. This is now a Museum Shipand  can be found in the Naval Yard at Pearl Harbour  Hawaii and us well worth the visit..I visited This ship when it was in Sydney for the Naval celebrations and again in Pearl Harbour..

The USS Missouri BB63 is one of four Ioawa class Battleships built during World War II.  This is famous in the respect apart from its amazing service during the conflict but This ship took the Surrender of The Japanese Empire  in Tokyo Bay on September 2nd. 1945. The reason that this  ship known lovingly as " The Mighty MO" was that the then President of The USA  President Truman was from the state of Missouri and when asked by General Mc Arthur who was to take the surrender . "Sir "!"What ship will we use for the surrender "??  and of Course the President  Truman answered The USS Missouri of course..after all his wife Margaret Truman sponsered The "Mighty Mo "
The USS  Missouri BB63 s is one of four huge IOWA Class Battleships . They are  USS New Jersey BB62,  USS Iowa BB61, and the USS Wisconsin.BB64  All four of these huge ships are now retired from service with The US Navy and are all Museum ships  that can be vited today. The USS Missouri  BB63 is to be seen at Pearl Harbour. The USS Wisconsin BB64  can be seen in The National Maritme Centre  Norfolk Virginia  . The USS New Jersey BB62 can be seen In Camden New Jersey, and The USS Iowa BB61 can be seen in retirement dock #87 in The Port of Los Angeles  California..

A great  card has just arrived with two other cards  ..This is a " surprise"card and  is from the USA and shows a great view of The Pebtagon Building in in Arlington Virginia with Washington DC and The Washington Monument  standing in the background...  I worked  for some time very close by this building while  working on  (with many workers ) contructing a section of the Metro System to The National Airport.
This five sided giant nerve centre of The United States Defence Department is the largest office building in the world. This simple functional design of the building eliminates considerable walking distances from office to office.
Thank you so much  Len for this great card and I beleive this also is my first card of the Pentagon Building..also great stamps.  thank you !!  So nie to reeive some cards these days as there are much fewer postal deliveries these days with very few postcards du to the International postal systems in slow or lockdown.
