The first Bulgarian Postcard was issued in 1892 the time of the First Agricultural and  Industrial Exhibition in Plovdiv.. with the postal laws of 1897 various organisations and individuals started issueing new postcards . Before that time illustrated postcards had only been issued on special occasions.
