Another surprise card today in my mailbox .. THis card from my frind Poonam..  Thank you so much for this lovely card  showing these playful monkeys  but they can be very naughty from my experience with them...always watch your things especially your sunglasses they seem to love them also small hats..  Thank you my dear for this nice card..

Malaysia


MALAYSIA.:

Such a nice card has just arrived showing this playful Orangutan  such wonderul primates to watch and most loveable  but,  like most now they look like heading for extinction due to loss of habitat due to palm oil exploitation.

Indonesia

Ubud : BALI

Thanks Will for this card that you got for me in Bali...Card shows multi view of some primates These the Monkeys of  The Sacred Monkey Forrest Sanctuary in Padangtegal  Ubud  Bali.. I have also visited this sanctuary and the monkeys there are so mischievious..and try to steal anythng that they can.I saw a few visitors lose their hats and glasses. Dont be fooled they are dangerous .

Thank you Bernard for once again sending me a PIF card #5 ..This is a lovely card and will add nicely to my collection of wild life primates.. You say that Orang-Utan in Malay language means "Man of the Forrest " but unfortunately like most parts of the world his forrest is becoming much less of a place for him to live..Everybody must do more to save our animals and their habitat...Thanks Bernard.also for the nice stamps..

 ORANGUTAN: its scientific name is pongo pygmaeus while its colour has earned it the name of "Red Ape" To The people of Borneo it is Orang Utan singular or plural this local name is an Indonesian and Malay phrase which means Forrest Dweller.!!

Another surprise card arrived today.. This time a PIF card from a card member in Malaysia.. Thank you Bernard for this card  ...The card depicts the Probiscus Monkey known for their big noses..I saw many of them when traveling in Sabah. Borneo..I think the photographer has caught him at a compromising time !!! PIF card # 4..

Czech Republic.

 This is a lovely card from a great friend in Prague and a nice card from The Prague Zoo..The card shows this little silver gibbon.Silvery gibbons are an endangered species in the wild so every new birth is greeted with great joy..This male silver Gibbon was born at Prague Zoo on July the 29th 2015 and is more exceptional because it is the first baby gibbon of this species to be born at The Czech and Slovlak Zoological Gardens..Thank you so much Eliska for thinking of me on your visit..

The cards shows all facts about this wonderful animal unfortunately nearing the endangered list with the loss of so much of its habitat..Very interesting stats here on this lovely primate..

Philippines


Bohol Is. PHILIPPINES.:

 What a lovely card...I really love wild life cards and this is so nice..and shows the smallest monkey in the world ..Known as a Tarsier (carlo synrichta ) it is found on the Island of Bohol Near Cebu Island in the Philippines.
Having not changed in Millions of years this little monkey can be found in a few isolated Islands in south east Asian Islands including Malaysia and Indonesia.Generally beige , buff or ochre in color are noted for their huge eyes..Thank you Chloe for this lovely card.

What a lovely card..I always love to receive wildlife cards from various countries and can always marvel at the diversity of wildlife on the Planet..This card shows some lovely little "Tarsiers" That are located on the Island of Bohol in the Philippines .These particular tiny primates are the smallest in the world. They are a protected species now and is forbidden to even touch them..as they become too stressed when handled.Thank you so much Chloe for this swap..

 Thank you Fiona for another of these lovely monkey postcards from Sabah...very appropriate in this "The Year of The Monkey". Thank you. This lovely card shows the "Red Leaf Monkey " .This monkey is known locally as "Lotong Merah"..This species is somewhat more territorial than the Probiscus Monkey and will cahase away any other monkeys within its area.and can be found in groups of 2 to 13 individuals.They feed only during the day, breaking into sub groups as they forage for leaves , shoots and fruit.and can only be found in Kalimantan ,  Kalimantan islands , Sarawak , Sabah and Bruneii .Borneo..Thank you Fiona.

A lovely card with my first Chinese New Year "Year of the Monkey " 2016 stamps..with lovely postmarks on this Monkey card from Borneo...What a lovely card it is ,  showing the Silver Leaf Langur..Monkey and young. The Silver leafed Langur is one of ten different primates that can be found on the island  of Borneo      Malaysia is a mega-diverse country with 20 % of the worlds animal species and his one of the most bio diverse areas on the planet.Among the many primates found here are Bornean Orangutans , Muellers Gibbons , Macaques , Proboscis Monkeys , Silver leafed Monkeys , Langurs , and slow lorises..Proboscis Monkeys ( the worlds largest monkey) are a Langur species endemic to Borneo.

Indonesia

 I love wildlife cards and my friend in Indonesia has just sent me four lovely cards showing different wildlife in Indonesia. This card shows a wonderful little creature called "Tarsius"  (Tarsius Tarsier )it is a small primate That is  10 to 15 CM's and their tails are twice as long as their body. There are,  I'm told nine species of these cute little animals , two species are found in The Phillippines,  the other seven species are found in Sulawesi  and are nocturnal primates.

Rwanda, officially The Republic of Rwanda is a Sovereign State in Central and East Africa. Located a few degrees south of the equator Rwanda is bordered by Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi,and The Democratic Republic of The Congo.Rwanda is in the African great lakes region and is highly elevated , with its geography dominated by its mountains in the west and savannah to the east with numerous lakes throughout the country . The climate of the country is temperate to  sub-tropical with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons each year. Rwanda is one of only two countries where mountain gorillas can be visited safely and visitors are prepared to pay very high prices for the gorilla tracking permits..The capital city is Kigali and also its largest city.
