A lovely colourful card arrived yesterday.. What a surprise as it was posted 7 months ago ! There was a postal stamp. "Missent to Botswana " amazing !. Thank you fror this lovely card Arnold and am so happy that it has finally arrived after such a long and round about journey. . This is another card in the series of "World Fashion " and local and indigenous dress . This being native American.

Darwin : NORTHERN TERRITORY :
This is a lovely recently released card of The Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory Australia. I have visited This National Park and like Australian National Parks is full of wildlife and usually off the beaten track . The card shows the Florence Falls.
. I managed to visit this Park with a bunch of likewise travellers from the hostel where I was staying a lovey hot day and great for a swim to cool off. I will atatch a couple of pics from my visit there.
The Litchfield National Park is located south of Darwin The capital city of the Northern Territory.. Th nationa Park covers an area of over 1500 KM/ 2.. located very close to the city of Batchelor. The Litchfield National Park was proclimed a National Park in 1986 and Named after Frederick Henry Litchfield a Territorian explorer . Common wildlife species that are common to the area are The Antilopine Kangaroo, the agile wallaby ,the sugar glider, the southern brushtailed possum ,the fawn antechnius, and various types of flying fox. and the ghost bat. Also native to the area is an abundance of various birds, cockatoos, parrots When driving here there are many huge magnetic Termite Mounds.. that really dot the landscape..The area also was very popular for its Uranium deposits..The Aboriginal peoples have lived in this areas for thousands of years and is very important to Kungarakan and Murrannunggu people whoes ancestral spirits are still consisered to be actively present within the landscape. The park sees about 340 000 visitors per / year .

This is a really nice card showing this native American dressed in National Dress This little Lakota girlis called Kate Blue Thunder and is eight years old !All her clothes and the doll that she is holding are all carefully handcrafted by the elderly women of the tribe using leather , beads and coulored cloth given by friends,,a really nice card..

A lovely colourful card showing the faces of the four Guardian Kings of Bhutan.. A lovely card as I just love cards with masks.. from a trip from a good friends visit to the country of Bhutan. A country that I would so much love to visit...Thank you so much Poonam for these cards that you have sent for me..
The four Guardian Kings are :White.: Yulhor Sung of the east. Red Chenmi Zangof the west . Blue Pak Kuepo of the south and Yellow Nam Thoesay of the north..The four kings beleived to ward off evil eyes and pacify evil negativities are seen on the murals to the entrances into Forts and Temples in Bhutan.

This lovely colourful card illustrates the lovely embroidery that is some of the widespread folk applied art that is to be found in Azerbaijan. The decorative embroidery was applied to various forms satin , breadcloth ,velvet , as well as by chainstitch using colourful silk threads Nowadays an ancient school of embroidery has been kept in many towns of Azerbaijan and only differeing in the use of silk and woolen threads.. thank you Nuray for these lovely cards that you have swapped..

Looking closely at some of these symbols so many are very interesting.This is an amazing culture that is always so colourful . All of these designs that are found on their artwork, baskets and jewelry etc all have meanings and the significance of which has been handed down from Generation to generation ,They are also used in their ceremonials and express so many meanings to those who know the significance ..
