   What a most wonderful heart reaching card , Thank you so much for this most loving card  Doyel !  Being an animal lover myself ..especially of dogs I found this story  to be so touching of this most wonderful and faithful little  dog. This little dog  can only be said to be the most faithful of any.  This satue is located  at the corner of  Edinbugher's Candlemakers Row and King George the IV  Bridge, and is a category A listed building .

   NAME : Bobby :
  BEED :Ske Terrier or a ( Dandy Dinmont Terrier )
  Born :  4th May 1855 Edinburg Scaotland 
  Died :  14th January 1872 in Edinburgh Scotland (aged 16 years )
  RESTING PLACE :  Greyfriars Churchyard
  KNOWN FOR : Guarding the grave of his owner everyday untilhis death on the 14th January 1872.
 OWNER : John Gray.
 AWARDS :  The dog was awarded with  the  Keys to The City of Edinburgh.

 The best known story is that "Bobby" belonged to John Gray who worked for The Edinburgh City Police department as a nightwatchmen. When John Gray died he was laid to rest in  Greyfriars Churchyard  that was the Churchyard that was surrounding The Greyfriars Church in the Olde Town of Edinbugh. Bobby then became known locally for sitting every day on his masters gravesite . In 1867 The lord Prvost of Edinbugh Sir William Chamvers who was also The director for The Scottish Society for The Prevention for the Cruelty to Animals. When Bobby died .. He  paid for the dogs licence and then gave the dog a collar .. which can now be seen in the Museum of Edinburgh.
"Bobby" selflessly sat on his owners grave for 14 years.. finally sucumbing to cancer of the jaw..

 
 A DOGS  FAITHFILLNESS  IS UNMATCHED AND CAN NEVER BE DOUBTED :: THE LOVE OF A DOG  IS THE MOST OF ANY ANIMAL ON THE PLANET !

We are so  lucky  to  have the good fortune to be able to own own such a wonderfully faithful loving  animal..

 Every dog should have a home !!  and every home should have a dog !

 The card says :The traditional music of Ireland is both played and heard with great passion in the whole of the country of Ireland and has really flourished in recent years. The most common musical instruments for Irish music are the Fiddle and the Bodhan , an accordian and often spoons.most dance and music lessons are promptu and  is in pubs and have som regulars  who add some more zest to the scene.

  Another great card for my great friend Trang..  I thank you so much for getting this card stamped on 22-2-22 a "Palindrome day " with great postmarks and cancellation stamps  This is a celebration of wonderful Vietnames coffee.  Vietnam is one of the largest exporters of coffee in the world and this card also has a matching coffe stamp and cancellation .. This is  so wonderful my dear for going to all this trouble for me..  I love it !I know I really enjoyed the coffees that I drank on my various trips in and around Vietnam..wonderful ..also wonderful bread to start the day with te coffee . I hope to once again return to Vietnam a great place to visit and enjoy.

 Wat a great card and stamp lockof "The Year of The Tiger " this years zodiac figure..  also the Year of the Tiger postmark..   I love it .!!  This is a theme that I like to collect from worldwide cards amd stamps.. Thank you so much my dear Trang for sending me this along with some other cards  even a Christmas card in a large envelope ..along the way it must have got held up.  I knew that you were concerned that it had nott arrived !! somewhere but at last it has arrived .What a lovely colourful block of the stamps  Thank you so much Dear Trang for all these..

  I just had to add this lovely recently released card showing this beautiful pic of a Border Collie sheepdog  . This was one of a recently realeased series on Australian Working Dogs.
  My main reason for adding this card as it is such a favourite and reminds me of my beloved " Ammo"  that I recently lost to Cancer.... a wonderful friend, most loyal companion and  a great security dog.. I still miss him very much !

 What a fantastic release of the comic character  "Ginger Meggs"  a boytime favourite of mine and remember these  comics vividly that were waited for eagerly  with great affection.  A troblesome little boy Character but hugely loveable.  This is a set  of Ginger Megs that commerates "100 Years of Ginger Meggs" the comic strip character . A lovely set of  maxi cards first day of realease by Aussie Post in Hornsby  Sydney  2077 on the 7th September 2021 .  I love these set of cards

WOW   wahat a great card for my Marilyn Monroe Collection  although a small collection THis is the best of all the cards anf my favourited " Card of the Year "  Thank you Uwe  for thinking of me as Ihad admired this card on a previous post in Surprise card .  This is such a famous photograph of Marilyn Monroe from the  film "Some like it Hot " Thank youso much I am   "chuffed". A real surprise !

 This is the most unusual card that I have ever received I beleived due to the postage !!  This lovely train card arrived in an  envelope originally  posted in Belo Horozonte  01 October  "Wrld Postcard Day " with stamp then another stamp Belo Horizonte  15 August PO stamp on Postcrard 15 August ! then the  final stamp on the envelope Santa Anica California 20 October : This finally Arrived in Sydney 03 November .  I think this was done like this due to the devistating results of the Covid Virus in Brasil..  I really love the thoughtfulness put into this PostcardUnited card Jauro Abrigado ..many thanks for thinking of me for this "World Postcrossing day and great train card  as you know I really love train cards and this is no exemption..ABRIGADO !

  This  is  another great Lighthouse card from Germany   and another for my quickly growing collection.   This is a lovely black and white card that has a coloured part in the card  (red ) so affective  I have had a couple of other cards like this and I really like them. Thank you so much Anke and This lighthose mentioned is in Helgoland and is the site for an up coming meet up..  I trust all goes well and thanks for thinking of me with tyour kind thoughts and this great card /The seals look very comfortable there on the sand .!

  Thank you Hallie for this kind card that you have sent me after I liked the post showing this card  .  Always have liked the Route 66 cards.I got to travel some of the "Mother road" Route  66 when in Oklahoma..Really would like to travel the whole Route one day.  The card shows a family in their 48 Buick convertible getting service in a Petrol station.. unfortunately the days of "service" are long gone . We used to call them Service Stations  !!! Thanks again Hallie ..I like this card..

 I have just received this most wonderful card. !! I saw this card o my :"Surprise cards" site and mentioned how much I loved it ..and WOW  here it is .!!.  Thank you so much dear Paula for sending me this card . This is one of the most heart warming  cards showing this amazing monument to  Ireland and its people  that I have  seen. !
  This card shows the  Large outdoor Stainless Steel  "Feathers" sculptured monument to the Peoples of Ireland that suffered from the great Famine  and was donated by the Native American "Choctaw Tribe " in  1847  of "The great Hunger" despite The Choctaw peoples themselves suffering great hardships ..and poverty on their reservation.. it is estimated that this donation would be  around $20.thousand  dollars in todays valaue.This Monument can be found in Ballick Patk in Middleton County  Cork...
  Thank you so much Paula for this lovely card .. 

 On my last vist to The USA  I vited Oklahoma and also The Choctaw and Chickishaw Native People s Reservation.. This was a most interesting place tovisit and witness the peoples amazing culture  and history of their  hardships and their life today where they are.. Thank you Stafford for making this visit possible..  also the rest of what we did and where we went in Oklahoma.
