A great surprise card from a friend traveling in South Africa...Thank you so much Marie for remembering me on your travels...such a surprise did not know you were down that way..
The multi- view card shows some scenes of Robben Island located just off the coast of South Africa famous for it being where Nelson Mandella and many others were incacerated.A nice aerial view of  Robben  Island .and Table Mountain,.The ferry for access to the Island , the lighthouse that was activated in 1865 ,and the prison cell of the famous Nelson Mandella.  This card was a really lovely surprise from a friend in Johannesburg South Africa. This lovely card was released by South African Postal Services in commemoration of the late Nelson Mandela. ..all the relevant information is on the card .. This is such a lovely surprise Thank you so much Leonie.

 Aaah!  Dalibhunga was called out in recognition of Nelson Mandela's Royal origins. The name "Dalibhunga" is reserved for male Xhosa Chiefs and Princes..

 Love this card showing this majestic Elephant  and wonder to myself about thier decimation...it makes you want to cry...This lovely card was sent to me from a friend in port Elizabeth South Africa . Although They have been hunted for so long and are now protected the hunting persists.
Elephants run towards the water with their trunks in the air to smell the water and also to search for predators that might be waiting.Elephants eat between 170 - 300 Kilograms of plant matter a day. They are three to four meters high and calf every four to five years. Thank you so much Leone for this card.
