 What a great card I always love to receive any cards related to baseball  This great card shows "Wrigley Field " in Chicago  this is the home of the  "Chicago Cubs "  and The White Sox !! one of the most famous teams in Baseball. Thank you so much Len for sending me this card after I liked it on a previous "post" of yours and this will add to my collection of Baseball Stadiums. Thanks Len Great card ! I have visited this Stadium !

 The Chicago Cubs are a professional Baseball team that is based in Chicago. The Cubs compete in The Major League Baseball (MLB ) and are part of The National League ( NL ) Central Division. The Cubs play their homegames at "Wrigley Field" which is located on Chicagos Northside . The Cubs are one of two teams that are based in Chicago , the other is the "Chicago White Sox " which is a member of the American League ( AL) Central Division. The Cubs were originally Known as the" White Stockings"and were a founding member of The National League in 1876.becoming The Chicago Cubs in 1903.

This is a great pic of this Monarch Butterfly. that you have made into your own postcard . A great card show ing the "El" Metro in Chicago  The EL is an abreviation for elevated .. I used this metro when I was in Chicago..What a great city..but dangerous nevertheless.. Thank you so much Arnold for thinking of me on your recent visit to Chicago..I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.  This is a great black and white card of the EL thanks mate   great stamp..!!

A surprise card from my mate Ruby.. Thank you again  for this B/W postcard showing The Chicago Americans.a photo taken in 1913 but I really dont know what sport that they are playing !!! I guess baseball !!! also somebody decided that they wanted some of the stamps...shame... Thank you so much Ruby for your thoughts.

 This is a souvenir card that I had to have showing the great Panorama of Chicago's skyline. To be up in the Willis Tower is to really get an appreciation of just how big all this really is.. The Home of The Skyscraper Chicago certainly lives up to its name.. this was a city That I thoroughly enjoyed  with so much to see and do and of course enjoy the food...and a visit to The Hard Rock Cafe.

Illinois has a diverse economic base and is a major transport hub. Chicago is one of the largest railway hubs in the country. The Port of Chicago connects the State to other Global ports from The Great Lakes via The Saint Lawrence Seaway to the Great lakes and the Mississippi River. Three US Presidents have been elected for office while living in Illinois, Abraham Lincoln,  Ulysses S Grant, Barack Obama. Aditionally Ronald Reagan who's political career was based in California was the only US President born and raised in Illinois. The capital city is Springfield and its largest city is Chicago the third biggest city in the country.  Chicago is also known worldwide for its famous architecture and as a major player in the "Blues" music scene in the country..many famous blues players have their origins here..

ISN'T THIS A GREAT IDEA......SO COOL. !!

My First visit to   Chicago, is my arrival on the "Empire Builder Service" from Seattle..the train is five hours late...and takes a further two hours to get into the Station when we arrive.I can't believe we are seven hours late !!!. I'm tired,  it's late and as I am only staying briefly,  I want to reach my nights accomodation as quickly as I can., my next train is tomorrow morning and that is The #352 "Wolverine Service" from Chicago to Detroit. Here I am meeting a great friend in the evening who is meeting me at the Station !! I hope this Train is on time.as I .have heard a lot about Detroit !!
Chicago though  has a great feel to it. I look forward to my return. so much I want to do and see here.
       Chicago's skyline is the worlds tallest and ranks amongst its most magnificent. it boasts three of the tallest and if you include the antennae on top , The Willis Tower is the tallest skyscraper in the world..The term "skyscraper" originated in the architecture of this city. This really is an amazing building to visit. You have to like heights and extremely fast elevators. There are usually very long queues here to access the top of the building..but its worth the wait and the cost.To stand in the glass box on the side of the building is not for anyone with vertigo.
 This was a Souvenir Card posted home from my visit here in July 2013. This was a wonderful stop on my "Around the World by Train " after arriving on The Empire Builder Service from Seattle  WA my original stay is brief.
This was one of my many journeys around the USA  by train June- August 2013.
