LOCATION : of Guadaloupe is in the Lesser Antlles Islands in the Carribbean.
UNIQUE : to Guadaloupe is " La Soufriere' Which is an active Volcanoe located in the south of Basse- Terre and is one of nine active volcanoes of The Lesser Antilles its last eruption was in 1976.
HURRICANE : Category four Hurricane Hugo in 1989 destroyed 10,000 homes and leving 35,000 inhabitants homeless.
FAMOUS : "The famous Pineapple" Colombus was credited with discovering was this famous pineapple on the Island of Guadaloupe in 1793. Although the fruit had long been grown in South America he called it "Pina de Indias" which can be directly translated as "Pine Cone of the Indies"
