PANGLAO  BOHOL ISLAND.

 After the fast ferry from Cebu  to Bohol  traveled to the beach at Panglao..  A lovely place where I had great accomodation  that was a five minute walk to the beach .. here I really enjoyed a couple of weeks in the sun on a lovely beach with clear blue water.. The area was very clean  with lots of accomodation places  bars o the beach ..with very alive night life.with people from everywhere..also so may restaurants .with great food selection I was surprised at how many Korean buisinesses there were in  Panglao ..Here I also took a really good tour of Bohol and many things that I wanted to see...

CEBU  and BOHOL
  This is a souvenir card I sent home from my trip this year around the Philippine Islands of Bohol and Cebu.. Although ready for the extreme humidity that goes with any of thee Islands in the Tropics  these were no different.Really takes a bit of getting used to after leaving winter behind...A feery trip from Manilla to Cebu was a lot longer than I thought that it would be also the boat was huge   not just a ferry that I was told..A really big boat really a small linerafter loading I sailed for the overnight journey an enjoyable trip to CEbu with a nice cabin..Also the boat must have been nearly fully loaded..and after a calm night at sea we arrive in the morning in Cebu..

The Peurto Prncesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP ) is one of the most destinguished bio diversity conservation areas of the Philippines , it is known lush old growth tropical forrest , interesting wildlife and pristine white sand beaches and unspoilt natural beauty. it features spectacular limestone formations that contains an underground river which is reputed to be the longest navigable underground river in the world.This is one of the few such rivers that the public can easily access, experience and appreciate.

 This is a card that I sent to  myself from Negros Island in the Philippines on my last visit..I looked everywhere to find a post card and these cards were all that I could find.!! I was very surprised at how difficult it was to find postcards for my friends...as I always send cards when traveling and especially one for a souvenir for myself from place of origin..This card shows the many lovely scenes there.

Cavite. Corregidor PHILIPPINES.:

Thank you Chloe for this card.. You know I love this miltary history from there.. Card shows some ruins on Corregidor  Island (known as the "Rock " )that was heavily fortified in  WWII.  Located at the entrance of Manilla Bay in the south western part of Luzon.  Due to its location Corregidor was fortified with coastal Artllery and ammunition magazines to defend the Entrance to the Manilla Bay. Corregidor played an important role during the invasion and the liberation of The Philippines from Japanese Forces in WWII.

Corregidor.: PHILIPPINES.:

 This card from The Philippines shows the "Ruins of the Milelong Miliary Barracks on Corregidor .This building is an edifice to the Gallantry of the Philippino and US forces who defended Corregidor from the marauding Japanese Military Forces invasion in World War II. This card makes one reflect and wonder what this very scene would have been like in the early parts of the war. This card shows the Monument commemorating The "Leyte Landing"  of General Douglas McArthur where on October the 20th 1944his Forces starting liberating the Philippine Islands from the brutal Japanese occupation in WW II.. This was a a fulfillment of an earlier promise he made where he said " I shall return". This was a culmination of many different battles waged by the US and Allied  Forces against the Japanese through the Pacific Islands from Australia to Japan. Thank you Chloe for this great swap card.  This card from Mactan Island , Cebu City shows artisans making guitars.Cebu City is famous for its finely handcrafted guitars.Manibago on Mactan Island is the centre for the guitar making industry. A local craftsman needs one month to construct and complete a guitar. Thank you Angel for this card.
