 Wow,, What an amazing sight this must be to see .. The Mount Rushmore Memorials located in The Black Hills of South Dakota..This is a National Memorial with four of the most prominent United States Presidents profiles are carved out of the mountain...amazing !!!Thank you Arnold for this great card.and the great train stamps. This is definately on my "must see and do list "

Deadwood : South Dakota : USA.
 A great card from a great mate ..sent from his recent travels through the American west...and what could be more west than "Deadwood " and its famous wild west characters. The card shows the legendary "Wild Bill Hickok and his last card game in Deadwood South Dakota. He was killed by a coward that wanted the notoriety as the man who shot Wild Bill Hickok only he walked up behind him when he was playing cards and shot him in the back of the head.

Wild Bill Hickok  (1837 - 1836 ) and became a legend as an Army scout and a law officer ..He was much of a freelancer and arrived in Deadwood City looking for gold. Also was a prolific gambler and was shot from behind in a card game while holding two pairs ..aces and eights ..and has been known since then as "The dead mans hand"

Calamity Jane  (1852 - 1903 ) Previously a scout with Custer's 7th Cavalry when she came to Deadwood with Wild Bill Hickok as a Pony Express rider she delivered the mail between the towns of Custer and Deadwood.She was an expert shot and died in Deadwood and was buried beside Wild Bill Hickok in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Deadwood. South Dakota.

What a great card !! What an amazing site this must be...carving out an enormous monument to this brave Indigenous North American Indian.The card shows the huge specifications of the intended finished monument and in the left hand corner a pic showing the finished structure This is the largest mountain carving in progress in the world.located in The Black Hills of South Dakota...The actual size of this carving is quite amazing (see specs on card ) This is a must to see and Thank you Staff and Sherry for this wonderful card from your recent visit to this monument..I have to put this one and many others on my bucket list of must sees and do's..

  Such an amazing site this must be ..and something that I have always wanted to see. The Mount Rushmore National Memorial located in The Black Hills of South Dakota .. seen here this awesome sight at night with the monument being illuminated by three huge banks of lights( about 150.000 watts)  The faces of four great Presidents carved on a granite mountain side stand out in awesome splendour against the deep blue of the night time sky. Thanks Deirdre for this lovely card from your journey.
