This is one of the many great cards that were waiting for me on my return from my recent trip.This card is from a fellow post crosser in The Fijian Islands.Thank you so much Nuchelle for this fine card..The card has little information only that the artist is Alfons Mucha.( 1860 - 1939 ).a famous painting !

This is a lovely card from The Fijian Islands and shows a local blowing a "Conch Shell" known as a  (" Davui" ) . Also used for communicating with each other was the drum (" Lali ")This is an old way of communicating throughout the Islands between the villages.The mournful sound of this can be heard today in some resort venues summoning the guests to dinner..Thank you for these lovely cards that you have sent me from your recent holiday there..

A happy card from Fiji showing a local Fijian woman holding a Banded Iguana a local species of Iguana one of a couple of different species of Iguanas in Fiji the rare one being the Crested Iguana..but they are lovely and colourful  I like reptiles and this is a lovely card..Thanks Greig..

Suva : Fiji.

 A colorful card showing a local Club Dancer.. Among the most famous of the Fijian "Mekes " is performed by men and that is the "Club Dance "  Warriors use bark cloth ( Masi ) dyed Pandanus leaves and Vow bark, and then sprinkle crushed yellowish roots on their hair.

 Through the streets of Suva past Albert Park and the grey stone of Government Buildings marches the band of The Royal Fijian Police Force. Marching with them their director of music Ex British Army Bandmaster Superintendant  J.H. Hemstead MBE..Impressive in their bearing and native uniforms, magnificent in their marching, and very versatile as musicians, The band has won many awards and is renown in Fiji and overseas for its uniqueness.

The Band of the Royal Fijian Police. These Fijian soldiers are part of the Police keeping forces in the Pacific Islands. These Young men are also very accomplished musicians well known for their very popular renditions of contemporary and old songs..

They can also be seen at various Military Tattoos around the world.
