The Speicherstadt : Literally means  "City of Warehouses  ( warehouse district ) in Hamburg Germany. That is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber pile  foundations. (oak logs in this particular case ) This is located in the Port of Hamburg within the Hafen City quarter and was built from 1883 to 1927. The Speicherstadt was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heriatage site on the 5th July 2015 along with the Konterhaus District.

  This  is  another great Lighthouse card from Germany   and another for my quickly growing collection.   This is a lovely black and white card that has a coloured part in the card  (red ) so affective  I have had a couple of other cards like this and I really like them. Thank you so much Anke and This lighthose mentioned is in Helgoland and is the site for an up coming meet up..  I trust all goes well and thanks for thinking of me with tyour kind thoughts and this great card /The seals look very comfortable there on the sand .!

 A surprise card from a fellow bird lover ..This card is from the "World Bird Park:"in I beleive Walsrode Germany. These particular Cockatoos shown are coincidentally my Favourite Australian Cockatoo called " The Major Mitchell"  named after the explorer.. These beautiful Cockatoos are to be found in small groups usually around Galahs and Corella cockatoos . areas are usually in central New south Wales ,  Queensland South and Western Australia..very noisey in groups..Lovely coloured Pink and white. Thank you Peter for this great card

Wismar is a port and a Hanseatic city in the north of Germany on The Baltic Sea.in the state of Meklenberg- Vorpommern. The city is located 45 kilometers (28 miles ) east of Lubeck and  30 kilometers (19 ) miles north of Shwerin and is part of the  Hamburg Metropolitan Region. The natural harbour is located in the Bay of Wismar and is protected by promontory and it is the capital of the  district of Nordwestmecklenburg
