POPULATION : of Macedonia is 2,069,162 inhabitants.
CAPITAL CITY : of Macedonia is Skopje.
LOCATION.: of Macedonia is in south western Europe in the Balkans.
UNIQUE : to Macedonia is :The Ohrid Lake  is one of Europes deepest and oldest lakes unique ecosystems with more than 200 endemic species.
OBSERVATORY : The Megalithic Observatory "Kokino" is one of the most valuable ancient observatorys in the world.
FAMOUS : Mother Theresa was born in Skoje in a catholic family with the name Anjeze  Gonzhe Bojazhu.
UNESCO : Ohrid City it is beleived that in the past it had 365 churches one for veach day of the year
HISTORY :Alexander The great was the only undefeated military commander in history who extended his Empire to India.
MACEDONIA : was the first Balkan Republic was formed in 1903 in Krusheva.by raising the Linden Uprising against the Turks.

What a great surprise ..Thank you Martina for this lovely card from your homestate..Card shows a colourful scene of a traditional wedding in the Galichnig Region of Macedonia.Being an annual event wedding couples have to reserve a year in advance to participate in this event and apparently people come from abroard for this type of wedding...so nice.. looks like lots of fun also..love the stamp...

OBSERVATORY: Kokino is The fourth oldest Astronomical Observatory in the world with oldest three being, Abu Simbel in Egypt , Angkor Wat in Cambodia , and Stonehenge in England.
LAKE.: Ohrid Lake is the oldest and one of the deepest lakesin Europe with a depth of 288 Meters.and is estimated to be over 4 million years old.
