  What a surprise to find this card in the mailbox !  Another surprise from my great friend Mel who just loves traveling especially cruising about on cruise ships  this particular voyage sees one of her ports of call is Belize  .Thank you so much Mel for finding time and remembering me with this great map card .I would love to visit here also ! Belize is a country located on the Eastern Coast of Central America. Belize is the only country in Central America where the official language spoken is English. though Belizean Creole ( kriol ) and Spnaish are also commonly spoken. Belize is bordered to the north by Mexico on the south and west by Guatemala an on the east by the Carribean sea.The Mainland is about 290 Kilometers  ( 180 miles ) long and about 110 kilometers ( 68 miles wide ). Belize has the lowest population density in central America with a population of 340, 844 as of 2014.Belize's abundance of terrestrial and marine species and its diversity of ecosystems give it a key place in the globally significant  "MesoAmerican Biological corridor. The Capital is Belmopan and the biggest City Is Belize City..

A lovely card from Belize.. This card shows another of my favourites and it is of a local big cat referred to as a Puma..This cat is known in many areas of The Americas by various names, Puma, Mountain Lion. Cougar , here in Belize despite their fierce appearance these big cats are a shy inhabitant of the Highland forrests of Belize..Thank you so much for once again thinking of me Arnold..love the card thanks mate..

The Margay ( Leopardius wiedii ) is a small cat native to Central and South America.that is listed as "near threatened since 2008 because remaining populations are thought to be declining due to loss of habitat following loss of forrested areas. The Margay is a solitary and nocturnal cat that lives foremost in primary evergreen and deciduous forrested areas. Until the 1990's Margay's were hunted illegally for the wildlife trade which resulted in a large decrease in the population. Most notably the Margay is a very skillful climber  moreso than its relative The Ocelot and is sometimes called the tree Ocelot because of its ability.and are found exclusively in dense forrest.The Margay is one of the four spotted  varieties of cats in Belize.

A lovely card has just arrived from a friend traveling in Belize.. Thanks Arnold this is a great card.. The card shows the beautiful iridescent blue colour of this lovely huge butterfly..
The Blue Morpho  ( Morpho Peleides ) is only one of the eight hundred butterfly species found in Belize. Due to its large size and iridescent blue colour it makes an everlasting impression on everyone who sees it.
