A recent release set of  first day release of maxi cards by Australia Post Commemorating the Landing on the moon 1969 released Parkes NSW . on the 16h July . This was commemorated in Parkes NSW as this was the Radio Telescope that picked up the first pictures of the moon landing prior to them being sent to NASA in the USA...as Australia was the first country and people to witness  this historical event,

Top left card: One small step for man !!

Top Right card : Aldrin descending "The Eagle"

Bottom left card :John Gorton the then Australian Prime ministerat Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station during the Apollo 11 Moon Landing 1969.

Bottom Right card : The Parkes Radio Telescope  1969.

The Most recent maxi cards first day release in Freshwater Queensland Australia on July 2nd. These are Australian Freshwater Crayfish ( commonly known as "yabbies") to be found in the freshwater rivers and streams of Australia ..and are just great eating.

What a lovely lighthouse card for my collection.. such a lovel scene with the lighthouse in the sunset.. Thank you Mel and Boyd for once more thinking of me on your travels .. this card from Nevada shows The Cold War National Memorial to the silent heroes of the cold war.at Spring Mountains National Recreational Area.
The Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial honours thousands of individuals that worked covertly for the United States of America's government to ensure the ongoing security of the United States during the cold war. Many of these people paid the ultimate price with their lives
